  1. Olga Bezhanova Says:

It is actually the first book of Nevada Barr and I have never read anything I can say is that I can not believe that did not learn of this great mystery series earlier! Nevada Barr writes is simply beautiful. Each metaphor, every thought and poetic imagination is exquisite. To give an example, the Mississippi is described as “without doubt, women, the great mother, a blowsy, fecund, fertile mastodons.

When Barr brings considerable storytelling gifts to one story set in post-Katrina New Orleans, the result is magical. I can not say how the novel compared with other books in the series Ana Paloma, but compared with many other mystery series, including those set in New Orleans, this book is certainly worthy of attention. Anna Pigeon, the protagonist of the series, a very complex, multilayered personality that I can not wait to see the other books in these masses beloging.

; From the beginning of book that is immersed in two different story lines. The first is that of Anna Pigeon, a National Park ranger, who arrives in New Orleans to rest and visit his friend’s talent Geneva. Soon Anna Pigeon is facing certain realities of the typical New Orleans: magic shops, Voodoo, gangs of people homeless. The other story is that of Claire, an actress who has lost his family in a strange incident and exciting. Both stories have stuck to the pages until they converge and begin to develop a thread that you desperately to unravel the mystery.

It is a great book, and if the series is half as good, and author Nevada Barr is a worthwhile read and follow.

In Book 16, gray and red head Anna Pigeon is forced vacation in New Orleans post Katrina. Meanwhile her husband to join her, Anna observed his mysterious neighbor, a gutter punk “named Jordan, place a dead pigeon in the trash. Given Jordan placed a curse on his research instincts kick in. Although Anna j” I started with the book of the series 13, I think Anna is drawn into the company’s most depraved and disgusting in his career.

On the other hand, Anna is faced with a difficult dilemma. Since it was facing a police force of New Orleans insensitive, you must follow the law, she has devoted her life or execution if there is badly wounded by the benefit of the doubt? Make that could end his career and his marriage.

Barr was part of Burn very scary and graphically the horrors of innocent people by the hands of evil. What got me through these horrible images was the knowledge of the authors would meet a fate that will be personally Anna dish with a vengeance.

Excellent! Not for the faint of heart!

  3. Luan Gaines Says:

I so enjoy Nevada Barr’s work, writing in the world of monsters, while its star, Park Service Ranger Anna Pigeon, managed to hold his soul. This time, Anna is in danger in an unknown territory, the city of New Orleans post-Katrina. On a trip to stay with an old friend in Geneva, a blind singer, Anna keeps in touch with her new husband, Paul, by phone late at night when he finished his duties in another city. Idle, Anna notices the strange new tenant has rented from Geneva, a punk channel “called Jordan. Innata suspicious, Ana felt that something was wrong with the new resident of Geneva. Contrary to its goal of being in New Orleans Anna is above all , a law enforcement officer.

Nationally, the police and the FBI is looking for Claire Sullivan, wanted for the crime of Fire / murder her husband, David and his two young daughters. Suliman David or Daud, a Saudi, has changed its name after the 9 / 11, his company prosperous import and export. There was no sign Clara in Seattle since the night his house was destroyed by fire, also claimed the life of his family. What at first appear to be vague connections morph into a formidable mystery that focuses on New Orleans where the crime is hidden behind the facade of wealth, bars ring with loud music in first hours, strippers take off their clothes, but keep their secrets and face an angry man has tattooed the alarm bells ringing in the heart of an experienced Ranger.

described by Barr Katrina in New Orleans and has changed its nature, the homeless, abandoned houses, gangs and opportunistic advantage of the loan needs of others. But nothing prepares you for the horror of this story, of the evils perpetrated by the innocent man. At the risk of life and physical integrity, Anna Pigeon stumbles again in danger, regardless compared to a moral certainty, perhaps at the expense of his life and marriage. Anna is a rescuer by nature, obliged to do what she can hair. mid-gray and half red, years Anna has nothing to betray the ferocity of his heart, but his time has certainly diminished. Barr has a vivid imagination and a thirst to explore all the evils of this world lasts. Gaines/2010 Luan.

  4. ITZME Says:

The story begins with three different scenarios: Blackie and Dougie talking about something in a coffin, the bombing of a house owned by a Seattle man of the Middle East and his family (all the dead, but the mother), and Ana Paloma vacationing in New Orleans. How do these all together is the plot of the book. This will take you on a journey through madness and depravity. Not for the timid.

Leaving behind her husband work at home, the National Park Ranger Anna Pigeon is to visit a friend from Geneva to New Orleans. Ana is surprised when someone puts a curse on her with a dead pigeon arcane engraved thereon. Requires Geneva Jordan tenant is behind the attempt by black magic, but there is a special type hostile, it did nothing for him to justify such a fate.

As you navigate through the darkness Mumbo Jumbo urban jungle of the Big Easy, Anna refuses to be any pigeons if not expect to kill ordinary occurs instead of Mumbo Jumbo Magic Mojo.
< , br /> Anna Taking in the scenes of homicides National Park in all parks added a freshness of its research as it is a fish out of water, especially the spell of New Orleans. rapid pace, as always, fans can appreciate the work of Anna, instead of the parks as their urban jungle out inqury control. Neveda Barr is the best sparkling wine of this exciting thriller.
